Fast Readout and Reset of a Superconducting Qubit Coupled to a Resonator with an Intrinsic Purcell Filter

Coupling a resonator to superconducting qubit enables various operations on the qubit, including dispersive readout and unconditional reset. The speed of these is limited by external decay rate resonator. However, increasing also increases via resonator, limiting lifetime. Here, we demonstrate that resonator-mediated can be suppressed utilizing distributed-element, multi-mode nature We show suppression exceeds two orders magnitude over bandwidth 600 MHz. use this "intrinsic Purcell filter" 40-ns with 99.1% fidelity 100-ns reset residual excitation less than 1.7%.
